Entering Text in a Callout

A callout can include static text (which does not change) or dynamic text (which reflects the current value of a business entity's property).

Entering Text in a Callout

To type text into a callout, simply click inside and start typing. Once you have entered text in a callout, you can then highlight this text and use any of the standard tools in the Font area of the toolbar to modify the appearance of this text.

Entering Dynamic Text in a Callout

Dynamic text refers to text in a callout that reflects the value of a business entity's property and that may change to reflect the new value of that property each time it changes. Use one of the following functions to enter dynamic text in a callout:

Property Data Source Tool: Click the tool to display a window in which you can specify the property of a business entity to be added to the callout, as described in Defining a Business Entity User Type. This option is available for HTML elements for which it is possible to assign a business entity property that handles their visibility, disabled or text/item attribute.

Dynamic Text: Dynamic text is an HTML element that shows the value of the business entity property. Right-click the callout and select Dynamic Text to display the following window:

Select a property of a business entity.

Dynamic Text Tool: Select the tool to display the Assignment tool and select a property of a business entity.
